Cologne has Kölsch, Bonn has Bönnsch. Klar? Well, no – not really. Kölsch beer dominates the city of Cologne and is exported and imitated around the world.
Bönnsch appears to exist only in Bonn and (as far as I can tell) only in one place. It’s quite different from Kölsch, (despite Untappd classifying it as a Kölsch) being naturally hazy and slightly sweet.
It wins out over Kölsch in one department though. It comes in a REALLY COOL GLASS. It would have been only a 6 but the glass elevates it – verdict : 7/10
