In the shadow of Cologne cathedral comes this little beauty. It’s not ‘gourmet’ – but, it fills a gap if you’re changing trains or you just need a drink after the often delayed (correction, very often – Ed) Brussels-Cologne express. Served in Sion Bistro (open from 10am, seven days a week) along with the usual friendly welcome. The Bockwurst – in this case, a Böklunder Super Lange, plucked from a giant tin – is a steamed pork sausage originally intended to be consumed alongside a Bock Bier but as we’re in Cologne it’s got to be Kölsch. Viva Colonia!
Verdict 6/10 ( I was very hungry !)This week’s guest correspondent- P Chamberlain (Greenwich)
