The Nürnberger Bratwurst Purchased at: Kakadu’s, Frankfurt am Main.
Having been around for over 700 years the Nuremberg Bratwurst is of such cultural significance locally that it has been awarded EU Protected Status. There are a number of competing legends as to the origin of these finger-sized tasty morsels. Perhaps my favourite is that they were made small so that they could fit through holes in the doors of unfortunate plague victims in Medieval times. A standard offering at grounds such as 1. FC Nürnberg and Greuter Fürth they are served “Drei im Weggla” – batches of 3 in a bun. A bit more substantial portion here of a Bavarian classic (and that includes the Augustiner..)
Verdict: a solid 8/10. Yummy.
