This is my second visit to this stadium this season, although last time it was to see Rot Weiss Koblenz rather than TuS Koblenz. TuS stands for Turn-und Spielvereinigung (Gymnastics and Sport Association).
There is also a third Koblenz team, Cosmos Koblenz, who, like Rot-Weiss, currently play in the Oberliga Rheinland Pfalz-Saar (5th tier, one level down from TuS). However, TuS look in danger of joining them – as they currently lie bottom of the division, with today’s opponents, Stuttgarter Kickers sitting in second (and that, only on goal difference).
Today a draw or win for Stuttgart will take them top, while a win for TuS would lift them off the bottom. Stakes is High.
