A traditional Altbier from Dortmund, this would be the beer I would recommend to drinkers of traditional English Bitter who are looking to dip their toe into the timeless sea of German beer. Smooth, mellow and delicate – an ideal winter beer for someone who usually enjoys (say) a Theakston’s Best or a Black Sheep.
Verdict: a solid and utterly dependable 8/10.
