TuS Blau-Weiss Königsdorf vs FC Hürth 24/03/24

This is my third visit to this stadium.

Great to see the shitting dog lawn sign on my way in again.

Well TBF it’s not a stadium – it pretty much like an English Sunday League set-up. The German Tier V is strange like that sometimes. You have teams that have come down from above and have a proper ground, seats, a bar and a shop etc. Then there are others who have travelled upwards, or have always been around this level, who have almost no facilities at all. It’s all part of the pleasure of the thing.

Today’s clash sees 9th play 11th in the Oberliga Mittelrhein – a classic ‘nothing to play for’ game, especially given the promotion/relegation system at this level of the pyramid.

And given the similarity of the two team’s stats, you’d have to say it’s a classic ‘nothing to play for, 1-1, and anyone fancy a pint?’ type scenario.

Anyways, off we go.
