If you’re in Cologne and fancy the footer, Köln’s second team is not a bad option. Especially if you’ve already been to see FC, Viktoria and Fortuna. If you’re in central Cologne, get the U18 in direction Bonn. If you have time – get off at Sülzburgstrasse and have a kölsch at the Südkurve bar. Highly recommended and the kölsch is only €1.30 (prices correct at moment of authorship).
Then get on again, and off at Klettenbergpark. Make sure to stop at the kiosk opposite the park for a beer. Beers at kiosks are great in Germany, unconditionally recommended.
Then it’s a pleasant 10 minute stroll through the park to the ground. I love a pleasant 10 minute stroll through the park to the ground.
The Regionalliga West is a great league to go and watch, always good fun. Not much* to play for today though, as you can see.
*ie nothing
Decent away support for RWO though, they are probably in fine spirits as they have qualified for the final of the Niederrhein Pokal. For a brief summary of the significance of the German regional cup competitions, see my blog post from 12/08/23.
Let’s rock!
